I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Here is a quick glance at your Post 2 activities for the remainder of the year. A more detailed reminder will be sent out as these event dates get closer. Mark these dates down on your calendar, stop by and say Hi, and please support your Post. Our "Membership Open House" in December will be announced at a later time.

If you know Veterans that are not members of the Post bring them down and introduce them! We are shooting to increase our membership by 100 this year and we can’t do that without your assistance.

I encourage all members to take note of the monthly membership meeting dates. Whether you are a Legion member or part of the Auxiliary’s, your presence at these meetings is important. Be informed and have a say. Thank you!

September 2011

1^st:                  Coat drive for the needy starts

1^st:                 S.A.L. Monthly membership meeting at 6:00pm.   Riders monthly membership meeting at 7:30pm

3^rd :                Rededication of our pavilion 11:00am

11^th :             (9-11-01) 10 year remembrance breakfast, 8:00am to 11:00am

13^th:       **Monthly Legion membership meeting at 7:00pm** and

                          Monthly Ladies Auxiliary membership meeting at 6:30pm

16th :           MIA/POW CEREMONY 11:00am in Hall

17^th :            Benefit for the Sunbury family at the Pavilion at 6:00pm

25^th :            HOME TOWN HERO breakfast (8:00am to 11:00am) and Bristol Mum Festival Parade at 1:00pm

30^th :            DJ ,dance, hors’doeuvres ,wine and cheese, raffle 8:00pm

October 2011

1^st:               Perishable food drive for local food pantry begins

1^st :               End of summer Pig Roast 2:00pm at the pavilion, $25.00 in advance - $30.00 at door

6^th:               S.A.L. monthly membership meeting at 6:00pm.   Riders monthly membership meeting at 7:30pm

7^th :              Movies under the stars night at the pavilion 6:00pm

8^th                American legion post 2 golf outing – Call Post for details

9^th:              Monthly Breakfast – 8:00am to 11:00am

11^th:     **Monthly Legion membership meeting at 7:00pm** and

                       Monthly Ladies Auxiliary membership meeting at 6:30pm

14^th :          6:00pm Installation of Officers Dinner and Dance with DJ
