Greetings Fellow Legionnaires,


I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.   Here is a quick glance at your Post 2 activities for the remainder of the year.   A more detailed reminder will be sent out as these event dates get closer.  Mark these dates down on your calendar, stop by and say Hi, and please support your Post.   Our "Membership Open House" in December will be announced at a later time.

 

If you know Veterans that are not members of the Post bring them down and introduce them! We are shooting to increase our membership by 100 this year and we can’t do that without your assistance.

 

I encourage all members to take note of the monthly membership meeting dates.  Whether you are a Legion member or part of the Auxiliary’s, your presence at these meetings is important.   Be informed and have a say.  Thank you!

Legion - 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in Hall

Auxiliary – 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm (upstairs)

SAL – 1st Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm (upstairs)

Legion Riders – 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm in Hall

 

August 2011

25th-29th :    2nd annual Post 2 camping trip at the American Legion State Campground in Barkhamsted.


September 2011

1st:                  Coat drive for the needy starts

1st:                  S.A.L. Monthly membership meeting at 6:00pm.   Riders monthly membership meeting at 7:30pm

3rd :                Rededication of our pavilion 11:00am

11th :             (9-11-01)  10 year remembrance breakfast, 8:00am to 11:00am

13th:       **Monthly Legion membership meeting at 7:00pm** and 

                          Monthly Ladies Auxiliary  membership meeting at 6:30pm      

16th :           MIA/POW CEREMONY 11:00am in Hall

17th :            Benefit for the Sunbury family at the Pavilion at 6:00pm

25th :            HOME TOWN HERO  breakfast (8:00am to 11:00am) and Bristol Mum Festival Parade at 1:00pm

30th :            DJ ,dance, hors’doeuvres ,wine and cheese, raffle  8:00pm

October 2011

1st  :               Perishable food drive for local food pantry begins

1st :               End of summer Pig Roast 2:00pm at the pavilion, $25.00  in advance - $30.00  at door

6th:               S.A.L. monthly membership meeting at 6:00pm.   Riders monthly membership meeting at 7:30pm

7th :              Movies under the stars night at the pavilion 6:00pm

8th                American legion post 2 golf outing – Call Post for details

9th:              Monthly Breakfast – 8:00am to 11:00am

11th:     **Monthly Legion membership meeting at 7:00pm** and 

                       Monthly Ladies Auxiliary  membership meeting at 6:30pm      

14th :          6:00pm Installation of Officers Dinner and Dance with DJ

21st -22nd :      Legion tag sale in hall

28th :          Halloween party in hall, DJ, 7:00pm


November 2011

1st :              Beginning of toy drive

5th :            “Post to Post” bus trip to Niantic , Montville, and  Norwich, 11:00am to 6:30pm

8th:     **Monthly Legion membership meeting at 7:00pm** and

11th :        VETERANS DANCE, DJ, RAFFLES

13th:        Monthly Breakfast – 8:00am to 11:00am

19th :       TURKEY SHOOT , craft-fair , 11:00am
