BOYS   FROM   BRISTOL


 They were boys when they left Bristol to foreign wars. They became men. They made the supreme sacrifice. They became heroes. These are just a few of the Heroes of Bristol whose names are inscribed on the monuments.

WORLD  WAR  I
Timothy Driscoll :  Born in 1897. Killed in action on April 20, 1918 in the battle of Seicheprey, France.
William Schaefer :  Born in New Britain January 17, 1896.  Killed in action on  April 20, 1918 in the battle of Seicheprey, France.
Daase Laflamme :  Born in Canada on October 13, 1892.  Killed in action on  April 20, 1918 in the battle of Seicheprey, France.
Ernest Firth :  Born in Lawrence Mass. in 1897.  Killed in action on  July 23, 1918 in France after participating in the battle of Seicheprey, France.
Vito Nestico :  Lived in Bristol on Seymour Street.  Killed in action on October 26, 1918.
Joseph W. Pratt :  Lived on Park Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on  April 20, 1918 in the battle of Seicheprey, France.
Elmer G. Linden :  Born on October 29, 1896.  Killed in action on  April 20, 1918 in the battle of Seicheprey, France.
Theron B. Davis :  Born in Walden NY in 1899.  Killed in action on  April 20, 1918 in the battle of Seicheprey, France.
John "Jack" Skelsky :  Lived on Stearns Street, Bristol.  He was wounded and taken a prisoner of war. Died in a hospital at Strassburg, Germany on October 28, 1918.

WORLD  WAR  II
Ernest Lowery Bacon :  Born December 5, 1925. Died a prisoner of war 1/31/1945.
James Thomas Collins :  Born August 13, 1920. Lived on Curtiss Street. Killed in action Nov. 1, 1944
Thomas Clive Poland Jr. :  Lived on Bayberry Drive, Bristol.  Killed in action January 20, 1945.
Vito Phillip Coppi :  Lived on George Street, Bristol.  Died of wounds in a base hospital on July 19, 1944.
Joseph Marseglia :  Lived on Meadow Street, Bristol.  Died of pneumonia on Leyte Island on February 6, 1945.
Robert Pasquale Penda :  Lived on Oak Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on December 11, 1944.
Joseph Dominick Parenti :  Lived on So. Elm Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on October 14, 1944.
William Francis Winters :  Lived on Mellon Street, Bristol.  Died in the South Pacific on April 19, 1943.
James Joseph Beattie :  Lived on Meadow Street, Bristol. Killed in action on March 29, 1944.
Francis Charles Duncan :  Lived on Wooding Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on April 1, 1945.
William Joseph Mikosky :  Lived on Putnam Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on August 17, 1944.

KOREAN  WAR
John A. Norris :  Lived on Stafford Avenue, Bristol.  Died from wounds received in Korea on September 4, 1950.
George J. Barnett Jr. :  Lived on East Main Street, Bristol.  Died as a prisoner of war in March 1951.
Louis M. Caputo :  Lived on Cawley Street, Bristol. Killed in action on October 6, 1952.
John Carrow :  Born on January 20, 1920.  Killed in action on May 2, 1952.

VIETNAM  WAR
Aldo E. Ryder :  Lived on Pine Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on June 4, 1968.
Gilbert Thibeault :  Lived in Queen Street, Bristol.  Killed in action February 29, 1968.
Philip F. Nestico :  Lived on Tuttle Road, Bristol.  Killed in action on June 2, 1968.
Peter P. Dubiel :  Lived on Vance Road, Bristol.  Killed in action on May 12, 1969.
Roland P. Levesque :  Lived on Putnam Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on February 22, 1968.
David D. Ouellette :  Lived on Emmett Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on March 22, 1969.
Robert M. Jacob :  Lived on Upson Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on April 4, 1968.
Alfred J. Gaidis :  Lived on Summer Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on May 10, 1970.
Matthew M. Canfield Jr. :  Lived on Park Street, Bristol.  Killed in action on November 25, 1968.
David Emond :  Lived on Candy Lane, Bristol.  Killed in action on July 5, 1968
Melvin Wade :  Lived on Riverside Mobile Home Park, Bristol.  Killed in action on May 8, 1967
