     American Legion Baseball     a 

Bristol is the oldest continually operated Legion Baseball Organization in the Northeast, celebrates its' 83rd anniversary in 2011.

 

 

Purpose  and  scope of the American Legion Baseball
1   
   To inculcate in our American youth a better understanding of the

   American way of life and to promote 100% Americanism.
2   
   To instill in our Nation's youth a sincere desire to develop within themselves

   a feeling of citizenship, sportsmanship, loyalty and team spirit.
3   
   To aid in the improvement and development of the physical fitness

   of our country's youth.
4    To build for the Nation's future through the development of our youth.
   
THESE ARE THE FOUR PERMANENT - UNCHANGING GOALS
OF THE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL PROGRAM.

At the annual Bristol Legion Baseball Awards Dinner held on Friday, Nov. 25th
the following awards were presented: 

The Junior State Champions from Bristol were introduced and presented with commemorative team photos
and season stats, and will be presented with team warm-up jackets prior to Xmas.

The Senior Zone Champions from Bristol were introduced and presented with commemorative team photos and season stats.


The following Senior Members
were presented individual awards:

The Red Ball Award, to outstanding pitcher:  Joey Randall

The Francis W. Mullins Award, to individual batting title:  Austin Howard

The Shawn Granger Award, for courage and character:  Matt Maynard 

The Mark Sulliman Award, for overall sportsmanship and defense:  Connor Fitzsimons

The Coach Jim Bates Award, M.V.P. selected by players:  Connor Hayes

The Hillary Driscoll Award, M.V.P. selected by coaches:  Austin Howard

The Dr. James F. Gilhuly Award, for purpose, dedication, sacrifice, commitment:  Steve Chamberland
