  9:00 AM –      SFC Stube to address Chippens Hill Middle School at their annual Memorial Day weekend remembrance.

 11:00 AM     Dedication of the aerators “on Memorial Boulevard Pond of Reflection and

                           Re-dedication of Hiker Monument and World War I Monument. 

 11:30 AM –     Community Covenant signing between US Army Reserve and the City of Bristol for its Community support of our Armed Forces.

 12:00 PM –     First Annual CSM Anthony Savino Memorial Scholarship presented.
                         (CMS Anthony Savino was in the first class to be inducted into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame).

SUNDAY,  MAY 24,  2009 

    8:00 AM –        Sunrise service at band shell on Memorial Boulevard
                              Service performed by Reverend Andrew Cadieux of  St. Demitrios Greek Orthodox Church.

    8:30 AM – 1:00 PM      Military Exhibits open on Memorial Boulevard.
                                           Displays of vehicles and personnel from every branch of the United States Military.

    9:30 AM –        Helicopter arrives at Memorial Boulevard School.                         

  10:00 AM –        State Police dog training exhibit.
                              First dog training show from Conn. State Police  (5 Police Dogs in attendance).

    1:00 PM  –       Presentations at the Band Shell.

                        ·        Welcome from Mayor Ward.

                        ·        SFC  Greg Stube (Nationally recognized decorated war veteran).

                        ·        Greetings from legislators.

                        ·        Special Guest Major General Zukakus will present medal to WWII veteran, Reginald Doble.

                        ·        Guard from the Tomb of the Unknown will lay wreath.
                              Bristol is honored to have a soldier from the Tomb of the Unknown in Washington D.C. available for this event.

                        ·        MIA table ceremony.

   2:30 PM            Exhibits reopen.

   4:30 PM            Shutdown of exhibits - clean up.

    8:30 AM        Military Units move to Race Street.

    9:00 AM           Bristol Memorial Day Parade starts at Race Street.

   10:00 AM           Gathering at Memorial Boulevard for laying of wreath, Soloist / Music, and reading of veterans names.

   11:00 PM           Units move to Forestville with Police escort.
                              SFC Stube brought to stage at Quinlan Park in Forestville.

  12:00 PM           Forestville Memorial Day Parade.
